The China Coast Guard (CCG) revealed that a Philippine ship intentionally rammed into a Chinese vessel on Tuesday morning and Philippine government ships attempted to intrude into the territorial waters of China's Huangyan Dao. Commenting on a related question, Chinese FM spokesperson Lin Jian said Tuesday afternoon that the Philippines sent multiple government ships to intrude into China's territorial waters of Huangyan Dao, which constitutes a serious violation of China's sovereignty and rights and interests, and severely undermines maritime peace and stability. 

China has taken necessary measures in accordance with the law to safeguard its territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests, a move beyond reproach, Lin said. 

Facts have once again proven that the Philippines' deliberate infringement and provocation at sea are the root cause of the tension. The Philippines should immediately stop such actions, and not challenge China's firm resolve to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests, said the spokesperson.
