The central authorities approved the appointment of Zhu Kongjun as the new Party chief of Wuhan University, relieving him of his position as Party chief of Sun Yat-sen University. Huang Taiyan will no longer serve as Party chief of Wuhan University, according to an announcement published by a WeChat account affiliated to the Ministry of Education on Friday. 
Born in August 1967, Zhu holds a doctoral degree in law, is a CPC member, and a research fellow, according to the announcement. He previously served as Party chief of South China Normal University, Party chief of the Guangdong Provincial Education Working Committee, Party Secretary and Director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, and most recently, Party chief of Sun Yat-sen University (with a vice-ministerial rank), according to the release.
