Last Saturday, an anti-fraud campaign was brought into the nightlife of a residential community in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong Province. They turned common scams—such as offers of high daily wages, deposit traps, and fake lottery wins—into interactive games for everyone, exploring mechanisms for fraud prevention that can be used in daily life, according to the report from the official Weibo account of Henan Broadcasting System.

On the glow-in-the-dark track, community members such as square dance aunties and primary and secondary school students participated in six fun games, including a "Tetris" themed around anti-fraud, hooping while shouting slogans, and learned anti-fraud techniques in the down-to-earth way.

A community cleaner surnamed Li with over 10 years of experience, said, "Spotting scammers is like spotting trash—you need a sharp eye." She shared that three years ago, while cleaning, she successfully warned an elderly man who was nearly scammed. "Stopping one scam feels more rewarding than cleaning an entire building," she said.

The best way to prevent fraud isn't to investigate after it happens, but to build strong community defense in advance. When cleaners and seniors who are often around the neighborhood actively participate in anti-fraud efforts, it creates a community network where "one person alerts 10, and the 10 protect 100 others," a local police officer in Guangzhou told reporters.

It is reported that a new anti-fraud awareness team, consisting of cleaners, security guards, and other community members, will be on duty soon. They will use methods like broadcasting tips through square-dancing speakers, putting up anti-fraud notices in hallways, and offering reminders during patrols to integrate fraud prevention into residents' daily lives.
