With the Typhoon Ragasa coinciding with astronomical tide, some waters may see huge waves. The city has opened 279 shelters and evacuated over 60,000 people, CCTV News reported.
Super typhoon Ragasa swept past about 100 kilometers south of Hong Kong Wednesday morning, bringing strong winds and heavy rainstorms. The typhoon is expected to make landfall later in the day along the central or western coast of Guangdong, Xinhua News Agency reported.
