China supports building a more effective and pragmatic United Nations through reform efforts to enhance its quality and performance, said Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Wednesday.

Li made the remarks in his meeting with Annalena Baerbock, president of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), on the sidelines of the UNGA general debate.

He also expressed China's firm commitment to upholding the authority and the role of the United Nations.
