At a regular press conference of the Chinese Defense Ministry on Thursday, media raised a question about whether the aircraft carrier Fujian is about to enter service.
Defense Ministry spokesperson Zhang Xiaogang said in response that the Fujian is progressing smoothly with its testing and training according to plan, and the day everyone is looking forward to is not far away.
Recently, three types of carrier-based aircraft, the J-15T, J-35, and KJ-600, have successfully conducted catapult-assisted takeoff and landing training on the Fujian. This marks the carrier's acquiring electromagnetic catapult launch and recovery capabilities, laying a solid foundation for the integration of various types of carrier-based aircraft into the carrier formation system. It represents a milestone in the development of China's aircraft carriers, Zhang said.
