When asked about the decision by the UK side to drop espionage charges against Christopher Cash and Christopher Berry over alleged spying for China, Chinese FM spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Thursday that since the UK judicial authorities have already withdrawn the prosecution, it fully proves that the so-called claim of "spying for China" is purely fabricated and groundless.

Guo stressed that China firmly opposes the hyping up of so-called "espionage activities" or the "China threat" narrative used to smear and vilify China. Guo added, "We advise certain people in the UK not to be delusional about being persecuted."
