Recently, after conducting a review in accordance with the law, the Quanzhou People's Procuratorate in Fujian Province filed a public prosecution with the Quanzhou Intermediate People's Court in Fujian Province against WAI SAN, the principal perpetrator, and other key suspects for suspected crimes including fraud, intentional homicide, organizing illegal border crossings, and extortion, according to a statement released by the Supreme People's Procuratorate on Saturday.

The group had long been entrenched in Kokang, northern Myanmar, using armed forces to extensively carry out telecommunications and online fraud crimes targeting Chinese citizens, among other offenses. The prosecution is based on relevant provisions of the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China and the Criminal Procedure Law of the People's Republic of China.
