Asked to comment on the remarks by an EU official who called for tougher measures against China after the country imposed fresh export controls on rare earths,Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Wednesday that China's competent authorities have elaborated on the export control policy concerning rare earths.
China's export controls on relevant items in according with laws and regulations aim to better safeguard world peace and regional stability and fulfill non-proliferation and other international obligations, and are also in line with international practices, Lin noted.
"We are ready to strengthen exchanges and dialogue with all parties on export controls to ensure the security and stability of the global industrial and supply chains," the spokesperson said.
