China-Germany joint venture FAW-Volkswagen rolled off its 30 millionth car off assembly line in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin Province on Thursday, marking the first passenger vehicle enterprise in China that achieved the milestone, domestic broadcaster CCTV News reported on Friday.

"The 30 millionth vehicle milestone underscores the strengths of China's super-large market and its robust vitality. It also highlights the country's market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized business environment, which reinforces multinational companies' confidence in long-term investments in China," Liu Yigong, general manager of FAW-Volkswagen, said.

A responsible person of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) said this achievement demonstrates how global automakers like Volkswagen are increasingly aligning with China's market dynamics.

In 2025, vehicle joint ventures are rapidly transitioning to smart, new-energy vehicles. Many joint ventures are actively building a new development model of "technology import + localized R&D + ecosystem co-development," according to CCTV News.

The CAAM responsible person said that multinational automakers are now deepening collaboration with China's local innovative technology supply chain enterprises, intensively launching smart electric vehicle products based on domestically-developed technologies. This demonstrates that China has become the most prominent hub for automotive technology innovation in the world.
