A night market in Zhengzhou, Central China's Henan Province, is drawing crowds with an unusual offering: free traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) consultations, DIY herb sachets, and fitness sessions, becoming the city's latest trendy hangout for young adults, according to China News Service.

Organized by the Zhengzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the weekly event transforms a cultural street into a vibrant hub where millennials and Generation Zs experience cupping, acupuncture, and learn Baduanjin, an ancient Chinese exercise.

"It feels more accessible than a hospital. You don't need an appointment or payment to learn about your body and herbal diets," said Li Xueduan, who visited after work, China News Service reported.

At one stall, attendees craft mugwort-scented sachets for better sleep, while at another, a TCM practitioner demonstrates "flying needle" acupuncture—a nearly painless technique that is changing young people's perception of the practice. Hospital president Xu Xuegong noted that over 1,000 residents join each session, with many showing strong interest in TCM-based weight loss and skincare.

The market has even attracted international attention, China News Service reported. Thomas, a student from Cameroon visiting a Belt and Road Initiative acupuncture conference, expressed hope to bring TCM knowledge back to his home country. Organizers plan to expand the program to more communities and integrate VR tours and online consultations in the future.
