A fishing boat sank after colliding with a commercial vessel off East China’s Shandong Province early Sunday morning, China Central Television (CCTV) reported. One of the nine crew members was rescued, while eight remained missing as of Sunday afternoon at 4 pm, Global Times reporter learned from local maritime search and rescue center.

The Liaoning-registered fishing boat and a Shanghai-registered commercial vessel collided about 3.5 nautical miles east of Chengshantou, Shandong, at around 5 am, CCTV reported, citing the Shandong maritime authority.
