Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian

Out of humanitarianism and friendship towards the Filipino people, China has provided cash assistance and emergency supplies to the Philippines, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Tuesday when asked to provide more details regarding assistance to the Philippines which has recently been hit by multiple rounds of typhoons. Relevant Chinese local provinces are also providing aid to the affected areas through friendly provinces channels. "We wish the local people overcome the difficulties and rebuild their homes at an early date," said Lin.

"We express our condolences for the victims and extend our sympathies to the families of the bereaved and the missing, and the people in the disaster-stricken areas," Lin stated, noting that China has noted the significant casualties and property losses in many parts of the Philippines due to the recent typhoons.
