At the invitation of the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a Chinese delegation will visit South Korea from Monday to Friday to participate in the Korea-China Future-Oriented Exchange Program, Yonhap News reported on Monday.

The Chinese delegation consists of 23 officials from the foreign affairs offices of local governments in Beijing, Sichuan and Jilin, the report noted. During their visit, the delegation will meet with officials from South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Seoul, hear briefings on China-South Korea relations, and visit the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and the Imjingak Pavilion in Paju, Gyeonggi Province.

The delegation will also travel to Suncheon and Yeosu in South Jeolla Province, where they will meet with the Ambassador for International Relations of South Jeolla Province and visit the Suncheon Bay Wetland Reserve, among other sites. They will also explore ways to deepen exchanges and cooperation between local governments in China and South Korea, according to the report.

The Korea-China Future-Oriented Exchange Program, which began in 1999, aims to promote exchanges between the two countries' local governments. After a five-year hiatus, the program was restarted last year. In June of this year, a delegation composed of Chinese local government officials visited South Korea, the report said.
