Asked to confirm or comment on a media report that South Korea's culture ministry has received a notice from China that it would be postponing a trilateral meeting of culture ministers with Japan scheduled for this month, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Thursday that the Japanese leader has openly made extremely erroneous remarks concerning Taiwan region, which have hurt the feelings of the Chinese people, challenged the post-war international order.
It also undermined the foundation and atmosphere for trilateral cooperation among China, Japan and South Korea, leading to the lack of conditions for holding relevant China-Japan-South Korea meetings at the moment, Mao said.
