Asked to comment on claims of Chinese diplomats posting on social media regarding Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's erroneous remarks on China's Taiwan, including one sharing a series of cartoons, which some analysts claimed to be a resurgence of "wolf warrior diplomacy" and expressed concerns, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Friday that Takaichi's blatantly erroneous remarks regarding Taiwan, which hinted at the possibility of military intervention in the Taiwan Straits, undermine the political foundation of China-Japan relations and have aroused strong indignation and condemnation among the Chinese people. China firmly opposes this, said the spokesperson.
"I think the international community should pay more attention to what Japan is really trying to achieve and whether Japan can still adhere to the path of peaceful development," Mao said, according to the Beijing Daily.
