The hills of Guling witness profound friendships between China and the US. As the Guling Forum gathers, we share one woman's journey back to her childhood landscape.
Gail Harris, a "Friend of Guling," was born in Fujian during the 1940s, returned last summer with one determined mission: to revisit the Moon Temple she remembered from her youth. Though the climb was steep, she pressed on, walking stick in hand, memories in heart, retracing the path she once took with her parents eight decades earlier.
When she finally reached the Moon Temple, her eyes shone with emotion. "The Moon Temple has always been here," she reflected softly. "Everything has changed, yet nothing has. The people of China are still as friendly as they were 80 years ago."
