"Lose one jin (0.5 kilograms), deduct 30 yuan ($4.20) from your property fees!" Recently, a residential community in East China's Shandong Province organized a weight-loss initiative, with 126 participants collectively losing 525 kilograms, qualifying for more than 30,000 yuan in property fee reductions.

According to the property management director, the campaign aims to align with the national "Weight Management Year" initiative, promote healthy lifestyles, and guide residents toward scientific weight loss. Registration opened on September 1, with the weight-loss period lasting approximately three months. Eligible participants included male homeowners aged 18 to 60 and female homeowners aged 18 to 55, with one person per household allowed to join. The top performer lost more than 10 kilograms, while some participants who gained weight voluntarily withdrew from the program.

One resident shared that taking part in the campaign helped reduce their property fees by 719 yuan. "I used to ride an electric scooter for every short trip instead of walking. Now I choose to walk whenever possible," the resident said. Another female homeowner reported losing 7 kilograms in three months. "Not only did I lose weight, but I also saved on property fees. I now eat lighter dinners and feel less fatigued while walking after slimming down," she said.
