China’s economy sustained steady growth momentum in November, with the new quality productive forces developing at a solid pace, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Monday.
According to data released by the NBS, in November, the value added of industrial enterprises grew by 4.8 percent year-on-year. The value added of the equipment manufacturing industry increased by 7.7 percent year-on-year, while that of high-tech manufacturing rose by 8.4 percent year-on-year, rising 2.9 percent, and 3.6 percentage points faster, respectively, than the average value added of all industrial enterprises in the country.
The output of 3D printing equipment, industrial robots, and new-energy vehicles increased by 100.5 percent, 20.6 percent, and 17.0 percent year-on-year, respectively.
Last month, total retail sales of consumer goods reached 4.39 trillion yuan, up 1.3 percent year-on-year.
From January to November, retail sales of consumer goods totaled at 45.6 trillion yuan, rising 4.0 percent year-on-year, and online retail sales reached 14.46 trillion yuan, up 9.1 percent year-on-year, data from the NBS showed.
In the first 11 months, the fixed asset investment (excluding investments by rural households) decreased 2.6 percent year-on-year. In high-tech industries, investment in the information services sector and in the aviation, spacecraft, and equipment manufacturing sector grew by 29.6 percent and 19.7 percent year-on-year, respectively.
The overall employment situation has remained largely stable, with the surveyed urban unemployment rate unchanged from October.
From January to November, the average surveyed urban unemployment rate across the country stayed at 5.2 percent. In November, the surveyed urban unemployment rate nationwide edged down to 5.1 percent, the same as October, according to the NBS data.
