The Global Times Annual Conference 2026, themed "Trust in China: New Journey, New Opportunities," is set to take place on December 20, 2025.

The Global Times Annual Conference 2026 is set to take place on December 20, bringing together more than 100 authoritative figures and experts from political, academic and business circles at home and abroad to discuss the theme "Trust in China: New Journey, New Opportunities."

"History tells us that the more difficult the moment, the more we must uphold the original aspiration of peaceful coexistence, strengthen confidence in win-win cooperation, and advance in line with the logic of historical progress and the trend of the times." In 2025, as global turbulence and transformation continue and global governance faces mounting challenges, China's demonstrated "stability" and "progress" have continued to inject certainty and new momentum into human development.

Over the past year, the international landscape has been marked by intertwined disorder and change. Cold War mentality, hegemonism and protectionism persist, while new threats and challenges continue to emerge. Geopolitical conflicts, political instability, security crises and humanitarian disasters have intensified, exposing imbalances, disorder and dysfunction in global governance.

Over the past year, the abuse of tariffs and export controls and the rise of unilateralism have repeatedly impacted the multilateral trading system, disrupted international economic and trade order, and placed global economic development at risk.

Throughout this period, China has remained committed to leading peaceful development and promoting global stability and prosperity. On September 3, a grand ceremony was held to commemorate the 80th anniversary of victory in Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. At a time when the post-war international order is facing repeated severe challenges, China demonstrated through a solemn commemoration its firm resolve to safeguard the outcomes of World War II and historical justice, injecting greater stability and positive energy into world peace and development.

In October, the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee was successfully convened. Standing at a historical juncture that links past achievements with future progress, the Communist Party of China in the new era, after delivering a satisfactory record, embarked on a new chapter of endeavor, injecting fresh momentum into the world and creating new opportunities by taking "accelerating high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and self-strengthening, and leading the development of new quality productive forces" as a new engine of growth.

At this historical stage where strategic opportunities coexist with risks and challenges, China, demonstrating strong resilience on a new journey, will continue to broaden paths of win-win cooperation and boost global confidence.

Against this backdrop, the Global Times Annual Conference will once again be held as scheduled. Under the theme "Trust in China: New Journey, New Opportunities," participants will engage in in-depth discussions around four key topics: "A forward-looking country: how important is 'predictability' to the world," "An empowering country: what global dividends will the 15th Five-Year Plan deliver," "A civilizational country: why the Chinese approach is the most implementable," and "A symbiotic country: new explorations in how major countries interact with their neighbors," contributing insights and fostering intellectual resonance.

During the conference, the Global Times will also release the results of the "Chinese people's views of the world" public opinion survey. In addition, two dialogue sessions titled "Looking Ahead to the World in 2026" and "Looking Ahead to China in 2026" will be held.
