In response to a media inquiry regarding what deeds of Shigeru Iwasaki led to China's countermeasures against him, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that the Chinese side firmly opposes the appointment of Iwasaki as the so-called consultant by the Taiwan regional authorities. China has lodged solemn representations with the Japanese side on multiple occasions and taken countermeasures against Iwasaki. Instead of showing remorse, Iwasaki has gone further to collude with "Taiwan independence" secessionist forces and repeatedly engage in provocative activities.
His actions have gravely violated the one-China principle and the spirit of the four China-Japan political documents, seriously interfered with China's internal affairs, and severely infringed on China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, spokesperson Guo Jiakun said.
In response to the above egregious acts of Iwasaki, in accordance with China's Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law, the Chinese side has issued a decree from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announcing countermeasures against him to punish his collusion with the "Taiwan independence" secessionist forces and provocations, Guo said.
