Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council said on Wednesday, slammed pro-Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) politician's words as utterly inhumane, in response to a question on Taipei city councilor Miao Po-ya's recent remarks that even in an event of war, Taiwan island could maintain normal life like Ukraine, where school and work could "continue as usual," which caused an uproar in public opinion with netizens on the island condemning her for glorifying war.

Taiwan pro-DPP politicians have turned a blind eye to the suffering that war inflicts on the people and have even made such cold-blooded remarks that glorify war, showing a complete lack of humanity. They have faced condemnation from all sectors and public opinion on the island, Zhu said at the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council's regular press conference on Wednesday.
