Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun
In response to a question by Russian media reporter over a report of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service claiming that the UK, France and Germany are seeking to draw closer to China as a form of "blackmail and bargaining chip" against the US on the issue of Ukraine peace agreement, FM spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Wed that China's position on the Ukraine crisis has been consistent and clear. China supports all efforts conducive to the peaceful resolution of the crisis and hopes that all parties will reach, through dialogue and negotiation, a fair, lasting and binding peace agreement at an early date.
Guo stressed that China has always pursued an independent foreign policy of peace, insisted on developing relations and conducting cooperation with all countries on the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, and firmly safeguarded its own sovereignty, security and development interests.
