Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun
The US National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026 exaggerates the so-called "China threat," interferes in China's internal affairs, and undermines China's sovereignty, security, and development interests, and China is strongly dissatisfied with and firmly opposed to this, and has lodged solemn representations with the US side on multiple occasions, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Friday, when asked to comment the US' enactment of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026, which contains negative provisions related to China.
Guo said that China urges the US to view China's development and China-US relations objectively and rationally, work with China toward the same direction, and jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state at their meeting in Busan, South Korea.
The US must not implement the China-related negative provisions in the act and should eliminate their adverse impact. If the US insists on going its own way, China will take resolute and forceful measures to firmly safeguard its sovereignty, security, and development interests, said Guo.
