China's Vice-Minister of Industry and Information Technology Xiong Jijun met with South Korean Ambassador to China Ro Jae-hun in Beijing to discuss how to ramp up cooperation in the industrial and information technology sectors between China and South Korea on Monday, according to a post seen on Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) website on Tuesday.
China is willing to work with South Korea to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, explore the potential for cooperation in digital technology, AI innovation, and between their small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as strengthening cooperation within the APEC framework, Xiong noted.
Xiong said that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of China and South Korea, industrial cooperation between the two countries has been progressing in quality, with deep integration of bilateral industrial and supply chains, according to the post.
For his part, Ro Jae-hun expressed South Korea's readiness to enhance communication and exchange with China, continuously improve dialogue and cooperation mechanisms, and further promote cooperation between the two countries in stabilizing industrial and supply chains, digital transformation, and other fields to achieve more practical outcomes.
On Monday, the Yonhap News Agency reported that a large-scale business delegation led by SK Group chairman Chey Tae-won could visit China in early 2026, industry sources said Monday.
According to the sources, the delegation may include Samsung Electronics Co chairman Lee Jae-yong, Hyundai Motor Group executive chair Euisun Chung and LG Group chairman Koo Kwang-mo. The delegation is arranged by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, according to Yonhap.
