Shenzhen Metro Construction Company Co., Ltd. issued an official statement on Wednesday, confirming a woman and her filming team had entered an under-construction metro tunnel without authorization, and parties involved have been given corresponding punishment.
The statement came after a video showing a woman walking through a metro tunnel in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong Province, drew widespread attention on social media.
The video was deleted after it sparked heated discussions among netizens.
In the statement, Shenzhen Metro Construction Company Co., Ltd. said the company attached great importance to the circulating information about someone "entering an under-construction metro tunnel to shoot videos" and promptly conducted on-site verification.
According to the statement, the video was filmed in the under-construction tunnel of Shenzhen Metro Line 22.
The investigation revealed that the photographer, Lin, previously contacted Qie and Gan from China Railway Design Group Co., Ltd., expressing a desire to shoot visual works of tunnels. Gan then contacted Xie from the project constructor China Railway First Group Co., Ltd., to make arrangements.
On December 15, without applying to or obtaining permission from the Shenzhen Metro Construction Company Co., Ltd., Lin, photography assistant Xu, and model Tao entered the construction site of Metro Line 22 tunnel and filmed materials, and posted the video online on December 20.
The Shenzhen Metro has taken actions in accordance with regulations regarding relevant personnel who allowed Lin and others to enter the tunnel construction site for filming.
The Shenzhen Metro has issued a yellow card warning to China Railway Design Group Co., Ltd., issuing a public criticism to China Railway First Group Co., Ltd., and ordering both units to hold accountable persons including Qie, Gan, Xie, etc.; it has also issued criticism and education to the involved filming personnel Lin, Xu, and Tao.
The company vowed to carry out special rectification, comprehensively strengthen on-site construction management, thoroughly investigate potential risks and hidden dangers, and prevent such incidents from recurring, according to the statement.
