In response to a question about Morgan Stanley's Humanoid Robot Almanac, which stated that China led the world in humanoid robot patent filings over the past five years and offers major cost advantages to the global supply chain, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Friday that in 2025, "Chinese innovation" has become a global buzzword. He noted that China has entered the world's top 10 in innovation rankings for the first time and has led globally in top innovation clusters for three consecutive years, with breakthroughs ranging from large AI models to the deep integration of AI and robotics.

Lin said innovation has helped keep China's economy on a steady growth path while supporting global recovery and improving people's livelihoods worldwide. He noted that Chinese technologies and solutions—from high-speed rail and smart ports to the BeiDou navigation system, which now serves more than 140 countries and regions—are enhancing infrastructure, disaster warning systems, transportation, and agriculture. He added that China's cooperation with countries including Brazil, Mongolia, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt has helped expand access to clean energy, combat desertification, and address challenges related to water scarcity and food security.

Upholding innovation-driven development and accelerating the cultivation of new growth drivers is a key task outlined at the Central Economic Work Conference. Looking ahead, China will continue to step up technological innovation and deepen sci-tech cooperation, providing more global public goods and contributing more to global technological and economic development, Lin said.
