China will continue to offer mutual support on issues concerning each other's core interests and major concerns, such as national sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, continue to support each other in pursuing development paths suited to their national conditions, jointly oppose power politics, and jointly uphold peace and stability in the region, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Wednesday in response to a question on whether China will take additional actions to protect its interests in the Western Hemisphere considering that moves similar to US actions in Venezuela may occur upon other countries in the Western Hemisphere.

Mao said China has maintained friendly exchanges and cooperation with Latin American and Caribbean countries.

No matter how the situation may evolve, China will remain a friend and partner of Latin American and Caribbean countries and continue to develop cooperation with them, she added.
