Combating online gambling, telecom fraud and related crimes is a shared responsibility of the international community. In recent years, China has actively cooperated with Cambodia and other countries, achieving notable results in combating cross-border telecom and cyber fraud crimes, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Thursday. 

The statement was made in response to media reports that Chen Zhi, head of a telecom fraud and founder of the Prince Group, has been arrested and repatriated to China for investigation by relevant authorities. "The Chinese authorities in charge will release information regarding the specific situation, and have advised the public to stay tuned," the spokesperson said. 

China is willing to further strengthen law enforcement cooperation with neighboring countries, Cambodia included, to safeguard the lives and property of the people and uphold the order of exchanges and cooperation among countries in the region, the spokesperson said.
