When being asked about media reports that hundreds of people had been killed in relevant protests in Iran and whether China still recommended its citizens to travel to Iran under such circumstances, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Tuesday that China was closely monitoring the evolving situation in Iran and would take all necessary measures to safeguard the safety of Chinese citizens.
