Taiwan regional leader Lai Ching-te, colluding with a few national degenerates and despicable individuals, has staged a farce and fabricated and spread fallacies of "Taiwan independence" separatism, which is utterly contemptible, Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said on Wednesday. Zhu made the remarks in response to a question about a provocative visit to the Taiwan region by Shi Ping, a member of Japan's National Diet, which Lai falsely claimed proved the so-called notion that the "Republic of China and the People's Republic of China are not subordinate to each other," but was met with protests from Taiwan residents, who denounced Shi as a "traitor to the Chinese nation" and someone who has "forgotten his roots."

Zhu said on Wednesday that no matter what petty maneuvers the Democratic Progressive Party authorities engage in, they cannot change the fact that there is only one China in the world and that Taiwan is part of China; they cannot change the inevitable failure of "Taiwan independence," nor can they stop the historical trend toward the inevitable reunification of the motherland.
