China will seek public input on a draft regulation for national food safety standards on pre-made dishes to better protect consumers' legitimate rights and interests and promote the high-quality development of the catering industry, according to the Xinhua News Agency.

The Food Safety Office of the State Council has organized the National Health Commission and the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and other departments to draft the national food safety standards on pre-made dishes and pre-made-dish-related terminology and classification.

In collaboration with the SARM and the Ministry of Commerce and other departments, the office also drafted a statement on promoting the voluntary disclosure of food processing and preparation methods in the catering and food services, according to the report.

These drafts will be released to the public shortly to solicit feedbacks.

In the next step, the relevant departments will further revise and improve the drafts based on feedbacks and suggestions received from all parties, and will release them according to due procedures.
