US President Donald Trump said on Thursday he would visit China in April, Reuters reported on Friday.

Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that he is looking forward to meeting the Chinese leader and that they have always had a great relationship, Reuters said.

Trump spoke with the media on Air Force One as he returned to the US from Davos, multiple videos showed.

China has yet to confirm the visit of the US president to China.

When commenting on the China-US relations over the past year, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Tuesday that the relations have experienced ups and downs but have maintained overall dynamic stability. This serves the common interests of the peoples of both countries and meets the shared expectations of the international community, Guo said.

The past year once again shows that cooperation benefits both China and the US, while confrontation harms both. China and the US should, on the basis of equality, mutual respect, and reciprocity, explore the right way for two major countries to get along, Guo said.
