Regarding US President Donald Trump's signing of an executive order on Thursday threatening to impose tariffs on countries that sell oil to Cuba, Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for China's Foreign Ministry, said on Friday at a regular press briefing that China firmly supports Cuba in safeguarding its national sovereignty and security, and opposes external interference. 

"China resolutely opposes any actions and inhumane practices that deprive the Cuban people of their rights to subsistence and development," Guo said.
