China and Germany are all-round strategic partners and have accumulated successful practices of healthy competition and integrated development. China-Germany cooperation is mutually beneficial and brings tangible benefits to the peoples of both countries, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Wednesday in response to a question about German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's stance on China prior to his departure for Beijing, as unlike the previous government, Merz did not describe China as a "systemic rival" this time.

Both sides should uphold the principles of mutual respect, equality, and win-win cooperation, promote further development of China-Germany relations, and jointly make greater contributions to world peace and prosperity, Mao said.
