The US has once again launched attacks against Iran during the negotiation process, which violates international law and the basic norms of international relations, leading to a sudden escalation of the situation in the Middle East, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said in response to a question asking China's take on the Iranian nuclear issue, on which the Director General of the IAEA Rafael Grossi stated that the IAEA has not seen a systematic nuclear weapons program in Iran, and that other countries may have their own political considerations.

China is highly concerned about this issue. China consistently advocates for a peaceful resolution of the Iranian nuclear issue through dialogue and negotiation, and respects Iran's right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy. China has noted Iran's repeated statements that it has no intention of developing nuclear weapons and its recent serious and earnest negotiations with the US. The Iranian nuclear issue must ultimately return to the track of political and diplomatic resolution, Mao said, calling for an immediate cessation of military actions and a swift return to dialogue and negotiation to uphold the international non-proliferation system and maintain peace in the Middle East and the world.
