In response to a question about whether China will attend the reported discussion among G7 finance ministers on Monday regarding a joint release of oil from emergency reserves coordinated by the International Energy Agency, Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, said at a regular press conference on Monday that for specific issues, it is recommended to consult the relevant Chinese authorities.

"Energy security is of vital importance to the world economy. All parties have a responsibility to ensure stable and unimpeded energy supplies. China will take necessary measures to safeguard its own energy security," said Guo.
