Asked how China views the impact of geopolitical conflicts on global energy security, as tensions in the Middle East and elsewhere and potentially protracted conflict affect the global energy landscape and the stability of industrial and supply chains, posing uncertainty for China's energy import security, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Tuesday that China is deeply concerned about the continued tensions in the Middle East, and all parties should immediately cease military operations, prevent further escalation, and avoid greater disruption to global economic development caused by regional instability.
Energy security is vital to the world economy, all parties have a responsibility to ensure stable and smooth energy supplies, and China will take necessary measures to safeguard its own energy security, Guo said, referring specific inquiries to the relevant Chinese authorities.
