During a routine rights-protection and law-enforcement training in the adjacent waters under China's jurisdiction near Huangyan Dao, for which the CCG had issued a navigation safety notice in advance in accordance with the law, the Philippine side assembled a large number of ships to intrude into the training area under the pretext of "fishing," attempting to stir up trouble, sensationalize the situation and grab international attention, Liu Dejun, spokesperson of the CCG, stated on Wednesday evening.

"We warn the Philippine side to immediately cease its provocative acts and smear campaigns," said the spokesperson, adding that the CCG will continue to carry out rights-protection and law-enforcement activities in the waters of China's Huangyan Dao in accordance with the law, and will resolutely safeguard China's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.
