From April 9 to 12, the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Southern Theater Command conducted routine patrols in the South China Sea, Senior Captain Zhai Shichen, spokesperson for the PLA Southern Theater Command, said in a release published by the theater command on Monday.
The spokesperson said the Philippines rallied extraterritorial countries to organize so-called "joint patrols," which disrupted the South China Sea and undermined regional peace and stability. The theater command's forces will resolutely defend China's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests, and firmly safeguard regional peace and stability, said the spokesperson.
