Zhang Jun, president of the Chinese Badminton Association and deputy head of the Nanjing Sport Institute, has been suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and is currently under disciplinary review by the Inspection and Supervision Group of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection stationed at the General Administration of Sport of China, and under investigation by the Nantong Municipal Supervisory Commission of East China's Jiangsu Province, CCTV reported.
Zhang is a two-time Olympic mixed doubles champion with his partner Gao Ling at the Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
After retiring in 2007, he began coaching the national team, and later became head coach of the national doubles group in 2017. In 2018, Zhang was elected as vice president of the Chinese Badminton Association, and in January 2019 he was elected as president of the association.
