Chinese and Philippine law enforcement authorities recently worked together to apprehend and repatriate a fugitive surnamed Tan, who is suspected of fraud and concealing or disguising criminal proceeds, according to the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines on Monday.

Tan was a core member of a cross-border criminal group that had long engaged in telecom fraud, money laundering and other criminal activities in Vietnam and Laos. He had been placed on wanted lists by public security authorities in multiple places in China over cases involving more than 10 million yuan ($1.48 million).
