Asked to comment on reports that some Pacific Island leaders had criticized China's recent missile test launch, saying they had not received sufficient advance notice, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Friday that China had stated its position on the test launch multiple times. 

"China remains committed to peaceful development, firmly pursues a defensive national defense policy and never seeks military expansion, and China stands ready to work with South Pacific countries to contribute to regional peace, stability, development and prosperity," he said.
