NW China’s Lanzhou closes all tourist attractions, discourages people from leaving as 6 more COVID-19 cases were reported

Lanzhou in Northwest China’s Gansu Province has requested residents not to leave the city if unnecessary, closed all tourist attractions and suspended operation of relatively closed spaces including Mahjong parlors and cinemas as the city reported six more positive cases on Wednesday.

Since Sunday, several areas in China have reported domestically transmitted confirmed cases and asymptomatic patients. On Wednesday, Lanzhou reported six new positive cases, including four confirmed cases and two asymptomatic cases.

To effectively prevent the spread of COVID-19, the prevention and control measures were implemented in a timely and resolute manner, local media reported.

The residents are requested not to leave the city if unnecessary, and those who need to leave should show their green health codes and the certificate of a negative nucleic acid test result taken within 48 hours. Cadres and staff of enterprises and public institutions at all levels in the city shall report to their units in advance if they need to leave the city, said the report.

Residents are strictly restricted from participating in gathering activities, and measures such as registration of people going in and out of residential areas, temperature checking and code checking are implemented, and sanitation, disinfection and ventilation are continuously carried out in public areas.

Mahjong parlors, bathhouses, cinemas, karaoke bars, and other places with relatively closed spaces will suspend operation. Performances, exhibitions and mass cultural activities will be canceled.

All religious venues will be temporarily closed and religious activities will be suspended.

All scenic spots shall be closed, and group tours and other travel services shall be suspended.

Large-scale conferences, forums, training and sales promotions shall not be held; Mass activities such as garden tours, temple fairs, and square dances will be suspended.

Welfare institutions and mental health institutions will implement completely closed management systems. Nursing institutions will suspend receiving new residents and visitors.

Subways, buses and other public transport vehicles should increase the frequency of departures, reduce passenger density, strictly implement the per disinfection per shift on public transport. Also the public transport should implement various protective measures such as opening windows for ventilation and wearing masks.

In case of fever, dry cough, fatigue, sore throat, loss of smell or taste sensation, diarrhea and other symptoms, the residents should wear a mask and go to the fever clinic of the nearest medical institution for treatment as soon as possible. During the treatment, the residents should avoid taking public transportation, and actively inform their travel and contact history, said the report.
