A man from Tanzania on Mon received a seven-day detention and was required to leave China within a certain time limit after he sexually harassed a female in the street in Xi'an of Northwest China's Shaanxi Province

Xi'an's Beilin public security bureau said on Monday that they have arrested a 25-year-old Tanzanian male named Lucas after getting public report that a female was sexually harassed by a foreigner at the gate of a residential compound.

According to China's Public Security Administration Punishment Law, Lucas will be detained for seven days and required to leave China within a certain time limit for molesting other people, read the police's notification.

Witnesses said Lucas suddenly hauled a woman in the street, trying to stick out his tongue to kiss her. A video clip released by Hongxing News showed that the woman being attacked immediately caught Lucas and slapped him in the face.

The hashtag "Beilin police announced punishment to a foreigner for sexual harassment" has become a trending topic on China's Twitter-like Sina Weibo, where netizens lashed out the man's disgusting behavior and gave the police a thumbs up for quick and efficient response.
