By implementing a series of innovative measures, power supply has seen strides in enhancing environmental protection within Central China's Henan Province's power grid infrastructure, supporting the country's efforts in sustainable development.

State Grid Jiyuan Power Supply Company has implemented numerous measures to enhance environmental protection in its power grid management. On May 22, the company organized personnel to inspect the 220 kilovolt Fengxian substation, meticulously checking noise control and waste treatment at each construction site. This initiative aims to ensure that the power grid construction meets environmental requirements through strengthened supervision and management.

The company has focused on critical areas such as substation noise control, waste management, and the treatment of persistent organic pollutants. By adopting innovative measures and enhancing control, State Grid Jiyuan Power Supply Company adheres to the principles of noise reduction, pollution reduction, and emission reduction. These efforts are part of their commitment to environmental management and support for ecological civilization through an environmentally friendly power grid.

To address noise issues in substation construction, the company has installed modular mute wall panels and applied energy-saving technologies and equipment. These measures improve sound insulation and control, reducing the impact on the surrounding sound environment. Regular monitoring and inspection help identify noise quality issues, and additional sound insulation equipment is deployed to ensure compliance with environmental standards.

In power grid construction, external insulation, transformer oil, and batteries can generate waste that may affect the surrounding ecological environment if not properly treated. State Grid Jiyuan Power Supply Company has established a temporary waste management mechanism, including special transfer boxes for waste batteries and hazardous waste warehouses. They have also installed intelligent monitoring equipment in temporary waste tanks. Utilizing new technologies like the Internet of Things, the company ensures real-time waste regulation, expanding channels for harmless control and reduction.

Sulfur hexafluoride, a widely used insulation medium in electrical equipment, can impact the local environment if not managed properly. The company enhances state detection of sulfur hexafluoride gas, implementing digital and visual management to reduce emissions. Timely recovery and recycling measures prevent environmental impact and resource waste.

Since 2023, the company has achieved a 100 percent success rate in infrastructure noise environmental protection. They have harmlessly disposed of 1.5 tons of waste mineral oil, 2.3 tons of waste lead batteries, 174 tons of waste insulated wire and base facilities, and recycled 166 kg of sulfur hexafluoride gas. These efforts have effectively addressed environmental challenges in power grid development, promoting the harmonious advancement of power grid construction and environmental protection.
