A woman in Shenzhen forcibly blocked the door of a high-speed railway with her body to wait for her companions to board, despite repeated attempts by railway staff to stop her.
The woman was detained by police for violating public security regulations by obstructing the normal operation of transportation, according to a statement released by local police.
According to CCTV News, the incident occurred on the afternoon of April 18 at Shenzhen North Railway Station, where a woman surnamed Wu blocked the closing doors of a railway to stop it from departing.
Two railway staff workers attempted to stop her, but Wu remained agitated and ignored their warnings and stops, CCTV News reported.
Wu was part of a five-person group, a railway police officer said. She and her daughter boarded the correct train after passing ticket checks, but the other three companions mistakenly boarded a different train on the opposite platform.
As departure time approached and the three companions had not yet boarded, Wu physically blocked the door to delay the train, the officer added.
Only after her three companions arrived, did Wu step away from the door, allowing the railway to depart, according to the report.
The next day, Shenzhen railway police located Wu in Xiamen, East China’s Fujian Province, and summoned her back to Shenzhen for further investigation, according to CCTV News.
According to a statement released by the Shenzhen railway public security authority on April 20, Wu’s actions constituted an illegal act of obstructing the normal operation of transportation vehicles. She has been placed under administrative detention by railway authorities, said the statement.
