When asked about whether China has communicated with the US through diplomatic channel and about China's comment on the related matter after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has informed embassies and consular sections to halt student visa appointments, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Wednesday at a press conference that we have noted relevant developments.
"China upholds that normal education cooperation and academic exchanges should not be disrupted. We urge the US to effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of all international students, including Chinese students overseas," Mao said.
