A man, surnamed Sun, 30, breached the barriers and protective fencing of the excavation pit at the Terracotta Warriors Museum, entering Pit No. 3 at around 17:30 on Friday. As a result of his pushing and pulling warrior statues, two Class II protected artifacts—armored warrior statues were damaged. The man has been under control of the police and he is found to have mental health issue, according to a notice released by Lintong branch of Xi'an Public Security Bureau on early Saturday. 

Terracotta Warriors, located in Lintong, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, are a world-renowned archaeological site and part of the mausoleum complex of China's first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. These artifacts hold immense historical, artistic, and cultural significance, offering critical insights into ancient Chinese history, culture, and military practices.
