Police in Wuhan of Central China's Hubei Province have detained a university student after an intentional injury incident left three people wounded at a campus cafeteria, local authorities said in a statement on Friday.
According to a statement released by the Hongshan District Branch of the Wuhan Public Security Bureau, the attack took place around 5:00 pm on Wednesday at a cafeteria inside Wuhan University. Police officers responded swiftly to the scene and, in coordination with university staff and emergency medical services, transported the three injured individuals to the hospital for treatment. All three are currently in stable condition and not facing life-threatening injuries, the statement said.
The suspect, identified as Zhu, a 23-year-old male student in the university, was subdued by police at the scene. An initial investigation revealed that Zhu carried out the attack due to academic difficulties, and he has confessed to the crime. He is now under criminal detention as the case remains under further investigation.
